Mother Gaia Tarot or Oracle Spread

Mother Gaia Tarot or Oracle Spread to connect with and support the Earth

When you resonate as being a Lightworker, Starseed, Empath or sensitive soul it can be tough to see our planet in trouble.

As I write this we are in the midst of the worst bushfires Australia has ever seen, and while many of us have been sending money, sending prayers and raising awareness, somehow it just doesn’t feel like enough.

I created this spread for those times when things feel tough, when the world is on fire, as a way to tune into and connect with Mamma Gaia and ask her how we can help - through our magic and through our action on the ground.

So grab your eco-coffee cup, a slice of vegan chocolate pie and your favourite deck and let’s begin to create the New Earth that we know is coming.

Greta Thunburg

1.How can you deepen and strengthen your connection to Gaia?

One of the biggest problems we have right now is that most of humanity is so disconnected to the land we live on. When we strengthen our connection to the earth beneath our feet we are guided by the earth mother herself, this card will show you can get back to your roots.

2.How can you ground your own light and love into Gaia?

Grounding is not a one way thing. It’s not just about us taking earth energy, it’s also about us sending our own energy and love into Gaia. This card will give you an insight into how you can work with this exchange of energy in your grounding practices.

3.What assignment does Gaia have for you right now?

Gaia is always giving us assignments if we listen. It may be something as simple as cutting back on something you are consuming more of than you need, or it may be an assignment to send specific healing somewhere. Anytime you want a new assignment, just ask for one!

4.Where can you send your prayers, healing, light, love and magic?

Sometimes we become so overwhelmed by the state of things we’re not even sure where to direct our prayers. This card will show you where it would be most helpful for you to be sending your prayers and love at this time.

5.What changes do you need to make in your own life to support Mother Gaia?

And while prayers, love and magic are all so helpful, we also need to be making changes on the ground. This card will show you how you can align your actions in the material world to your desire to see change.

6.A step you can take today to begin to shift us all into the New Earth

New Earth is the future version of the planet in which we’ve returned to connection with Gaia and are living in harmony with the planet. Here you’ll find a message about what you can do right now, right here, today, to help shift us into the timeline in which New Earth becomes our reality.

An Interview with Madame Pamita

Madame Pamita on New Age Hipster x

I have been a big Madame Pamita fan for years, I adore her energy and her tarot and magic work. I have binged her entire YouTube channel and when I saw she was releasing a new book on the Tarot I knew I had to get her on the blog! :D

So go make a magical tea infusion and get comfy and come dive into Madame Pamita's world for a little while!

She has also given the New Age Hipster readers an incredible offer down below so be sure to read right to the end!

I’m so excited about your upcoming book Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot: Using the cards to make your dreams come true. How will this book help readers to develop their own tarot practice?

I wrote the tarot book that I always wanted to see out there in the world - one that looked at new ways of using the cards beyond doing readings and new ways of looking at each of the cards as a portal to success and happiness. It's a great book for beginners to get a handle on the cards and also a great book for experienced readers to use to look at the cards in a new light. I give exercises for beginner readers to start to get to know the tarot, but there are a lot of in-depth tools, such as the affirmations for each card, that will bring a new viewpoint for even really experienced readers. My editor, the fabulous Judika Illes (who is an amazing author and very experienced tarot reader in her own right), said that I pointed out symbols on the Rider-Waite-Smith that she had never even seen before, so I think anyone who is interested in using the tarot proactively and looking at the cards as keys to solutions will get a lot out of it.

How did you first discover and begin working with the tarot?

I got my first deck when I was ten years old! I was in Salem, Massachusetts with my parents and we were in a witch-themed gift shop, probably Laurie Cabot's as this was back in the mid-seventies. My mom said that I could choose a souvenir and I chose a miniature Rider-Waite-Smith deck. I am sure that this is the very first tarot deck I had ever seen. I began playing with the cards as a child and as I got older, began reading books and studying with teachers and that's how it all began.

What was it about the tarot that hooked you in?

I can't remember a time in my life where I wasn't fascinated with divination, astrology, the occult. I was a little baby witch, for sure! But the tarot was for me, the ultimate goal. To learn to read the cards was always a huge goal for me when I was young. I really struggled with trying to memorize the cards and what they mean - the way I teach, I take out the memorization and show people how to learn to see and interpret symbols and connect them to their own intuition. That's the real way to read cards and that's why no computer tarot program will ever equal a skilled reader. Computers don't have a connection to intuition. They can only spit out rote interpretations of the cards, which isn't a reading at all.

What were some of the other first decks you used?

My first deck was that miniature Rider-Waite-Smith, my second deck was a full-sized Rider-Waite-Smith but my third deck was the Tarot of the Old Path, which is a fabulous deck with pagan imagery. It really opened up my eyes to other ways of understanding the symbols on the Rider-Waite-Smith. Comparing the imagery and symbols on more than one deck is a great exercise that can really deepen your understanding of the tarot.

Madam Pamita's Magical Tarot

What is your favourite tarot deck?

Well, my go-to deck is always the Rider-Waite-Smith. They are my old friends because the symbolism is so incredibly rich. It just continues to speak to me after more than 40 years of being around it. But, I do have other favorites - I love Ed Buryn's William Blake Tarot. William Blake is one of my spirit guides and this deck was gifted to me by a dear friend, so I have a beautiful connection to it. I also love any of the decks by Robert M. Place. I think he's a true genius and his decks are gorgeous.

What are your thoughts on how predictive readings work?

I believe in free will, so if one believes in free will, there is no such thing as a "destiny." However, that being said, I believe that we can see strong streams of energy moving in a certain direction and opportunities that are available to someone. I like to show my clients the map of where their opportunities lie (and the pitfalls to avoid), but it's up to them to walk the path.

What is your favourite card to see in a reading?

The Sun is one of my absolute favorites. It radiates the foundational feeling of pure joy and whether the querant's mind is on love, career, health or any other topic, it points to a good outcome. It's a card of carefree fun, positive recognition, everything being on the up and up. I think in my mind, I always want to be as open, joyful, and free as that naked little child enjoying a beautiful summer day!

What is your least favourite card to see in a reading?

It depends on the position in the layout. I mean, seeing a "negative" card in the past isn't a bad thing at all. It acknowledges that you've moved past that stuff, so it's sometimes a relief to see those kinds of cards in certain positions. But, if we're looking at "outcome" cards or cards that seem challenging on their own, one of the ones that I like to see least is the Devil. In my interpretation, the Devil can sometimes represent healthy rebellion or even fun rulebreaking, but more often than not, it represents power struggles. When it comes up in a reading, it often points to a struggle of some kind - maybe it's internal, maybe it's with another person, maybe it's with some institutional oppression. It doesn't necessarily mean suffering but it does mean you're going to have to pay attention, work through the struggle, and transform in some way. This transformation is often needed, but it requires some effort, that's for sure. It's the opposite of the carefree fun of the Sun.

What is your go to tarot spread?

I have a 7-card layout that I love to use and use often. It's one that I made up and I informally call it the Daisy Spread. I pull one central card and then pull six other cards and place them around the central card like the petals on a daisy. The central card gives me the big theme of the situation, the three above represent what's known and above board, the three below are what's happening behind the scenes. I look at the two on the left as what has been the foundation (known and unknown) and the two on the right as what is to come (known and unknown). The one at the bottom is the unknown thing that is "grounding" the situation and the one at the top is the highest outcome. The positions have multiple meanings and I love looking at the cards in multiple ways.

As well as being a tarot reader, you are also a magical practitioner and work with hoodoo and rootwork practices. What drew you to that particular path?

Magic and divination have always gone hand-in-hand for me. I began studying magic when I was a girl, really not long after I got my first tarot deck. I think that I have always had a natural talent for both. I definitely have always been attracted to both. When we are looking at a situation through a reading, we may see some areas that need some spiritual support and magic is that spiritual support. Maybe we are asking a question about career and we want to see more doors open or for the promotion or job to come faster. Spiritual work can help move those energies forward. So, I just see magic, and hoodoo as a branch of that magic, as an extension of a reading, the natural action that should follow a reading.

Do you have any advice for readers who want to start their own spiritual business?

First, get business cards made and second, carry your tarot deck with you and take every opportunity to do readings that you can and hand out those business cards. When I started to go public with my readings (after years of just reading for friends), I put myself in any situation I could to do readings for strangers. I read at friends' parties, I read at events, I set up shop in bookstores and restaurants (with the owners' blessing) - I just hustled, and as a result, I got to be a better reader and a better reader will gain loyal clients. Once that happens, everything else will fall into place.

How can readers find out more about you and your work?

I have a store called Madame Pamita's Parlour of Wonders and people can find me online at parlourofwonders.com. From there, they can discover my services, the supplies that I sell, and also things like my YouTube channel and my podcast (look under "Instruction"). I also have a free ebook (and it's really a gorgeous one!) called "Seven Secrets to Supercharge Your Spellwork" and I give it away to anyone who signs up for my newsletter (which I send out about once a month).

I would love to get to know your blog readers and for them to get to know me, so I want to give them a special discount of 25% off a Reading or a one-on-one Individual Instruction session - If they enter the promo code NEWAGEHIPSTER they can get 25% off a session (any length/kind). This offer is good for sessions booked anytime up to June 30, 2018. Yay!

Tarot + Oracle Reading | April 2017

The Enchanted Tarot + NewAgeHipster InstaOracle

The Enchanted Tarot + NewAgeHipster InstaOracle

Check out the video below for the full reading...

Oracle: Board Games

Pretty obvious this one. Quite frankly, we are just not having enough fun. We talk all the time about taking time out for the things that bring us joy and light us up, but honestly, how often do we do these things? Make sure you're making your own joy a priority this month!

Relationships: Four of Pentacles

It's time to let those people go. You know exactly who I'm talking about don't you? Hmmmm? It's not negative, it's no one's fault, it's just time to go your own way. Zero blame, self-blame or blaming the other person, just a whole bunch of release, K?

Career/Cash: Three of Swords + Six of Pentacles

This message was mega, and if you really want the full deets please watch the video! But basically, there's some pain and struggle for many of us right now with our money stuff. We're too focused on the wrong stuff. Check out this video on Manifesting from the heart. We have to move into more conscious awareness about what we're asking for and calling in.

Wellbeing: Four of Wands

Our wellbeing stuff is going really well you guys! The universe can see that we're working hard on looking after ourselves, making it a priority and it's a big thumbs up for us this month. Stay on the self-care path, you know what needs tweaking to start feeling even better.

Spirituality: the High Priestess

This was another big message this month. We are more connected than we've ever been before, and so many of us are now able to hear and trust our intuition in a new, clear and grounded way. We've been listening, we've been doing the work, and it's all starting to pay off. Trust the guidance you're getting and follow through, but give yourself some major props for the work you've been doing, whatever it's been for you!

If you'd like to grab a personal reading with me this month you can hook that up over at the New Age Hipster Shop.

All majors + major change is the theme this month guys!

For the full reading check out the vid!

ORACLE: Change

Just when you thought we were all nice and settled into 2017. Well, nope! Although this is the year of the Magician, we are all still navigating through the end of the last 9 year cycle before we're going to feel fully grounded in the new one. Change is occurring out in the world in a big, big way right now, and that's reflecting in our own lives too.

RELATIONSHIPS: The Fool

A lot of us are transitioning with relationships right now.

Old relationships no longer feel in alignment, but perhaps we're scared to let go of the old because we can't see new tribe members coming in yet. Don't worry, your tribe is coming!

You can find them online, and if you're in the UK maybe in person too

CAREER + CASH: The Hermit

This is a really great month to retreat back into yourself and reassess your dreams and goals. If you already know exactly what you want and how to make it happen, go for it! If you're not sure, no worries. Take it easy. Do your research and focus on bringing your energy back into alignment so you can listen to your soul rather than all the voices around you.

WELLNESS: The Tower

The light you've been working with so much is now shining really brightly on the areas of your life that need to be changed. Where in your life is that light shining? What are you being asked to look at and change in your own life?

SPIRITUALITY: The Sun

Working with the light is mega for us this month, but not only from a place of love and lighting up the world.

Lightwork is not just about wearing wayfarers and meditating in the sunshine, it's also about being willing to look at all that which the light shows us. Lightwork is shadow work y'all!

If 2017 is the year of getting into your spiritual vibe big time, Woo Woo 101  can sort you out and class starts soon!

And there's still time to grab yourself a 2017 Year of the Magician e-book totally for free!

Making Magic with the Magician in 2017

Making Magic with the Magician Tarot Card x

2017 is a one year in numerology and in Tarot that makes it a Magician year! Well, it's also a Wheel of Fortune year, but I feel like the kick ass Magician vibe is really gonna be on the front line this year.

The Magician is such an incredible archetype and I'm so excited about embodying the Harry Potter within this year! :D

If you wanna find out all about your own personal card of the year and more info about the current year's energy you can check out my totally free e-book - 2017: The Year of the Magician x

So we have all this amazing new beginnings, manifesting and magic energy floating around in the air this year, what are you gonna do with it? I've put together 5 tips to help you really connect with your inner Magician this year!

1. gratitude is literally everything

If you're not happy with what you already have, having new things isn't going to make you happy either.

How many times do you manifest something cool but don't even take stock of it because you're too busy manifesting the next thing?

Being grateful doesn't mean you stop setting goals and trying to achieve your dreams, it's about being grateful for all the dreams that have already come true.

2. Be conscious of your feelings

You do not need to be a shiny, positive, unicorn riding, glitter throwing light being every single moment of every single day to do good magic.

It's helpful to just try to be conscious and aware of how you're feeling.

If you feel like you need a couch day to be miserable, take it, but take it with the intention of looking after yourself when you're feeling down, rather than "I'm going to the couch FOREVER because everything sucks." Being conscious of your feelings and taking time off when you need it is actually pretty high vibe right?

The Vessel Oracle + The Starchild Akashic Tarot x

The Vessel Oracle + The Starchild Akashic Tarot x

3. Ritual

Ritual is awesome for manifesting and making magic.

You can visualise until you're blue in the face, but sometimes writing down what you want, lighting a candle or doing a full on witchy ritual is what you really need to help set that intention and get it moving out into the physical world.

4. Find a magical path

Study Wicca or Hoodoo, become a Christian Witch, join a coven or just create your own magical path of the Lightworker.

5. Manifest from the heart

Sometimes we can get really caught up in manifesting "stuff". A parking space, a pair of earrings, a book, a new job, a partner...

What you really want to do when you're making magic is peel it all back to how you want to feel, what your heart and soul desire and always manifest from your heart chakra.

If you wanna take your manifesting journey even further this year Totally Spiritual will be running again soon(ish!). Sign up for updates to keep, well, up to date!

Dont' forget to check out the free 2017: Year of the Magician e-book too!

May your 2017 be everything you could wish for!

Summer Solstice Tarot Spread x

Summer Solstice Spread by Vix from New Age Hipster

Wahoo! It's Summer Solstice time in Australia! :D I'm currently on vacay and missing the Winter Solstice in the UK, if you're looking for a spread to help you through the chilly months click here.

The Summer Solstice is a great time to acknowledge and work with the light, the sun energy, the divine masculine and to stand in your own power gosh darn it!

This spread will help you navigate through this powerful time. As with all my spreads you can use Tarot, Oracle, Angel or whatever cards you have lying around. There is no real order to this spread, so feel free to start where it suits you.

Here's one I made earlier with the amazing Linestrider Tarot x

Here's one I made earlier with the amazing Linestrider Tarot x

CARD ONE: Your Source of light

If you're feeling a bit like OMG it's midsummer and I want to be enjoying myself and basking in the light and making some serious magic but how?? this card will tell you.

If you're already feeling mega magical - YAY, use this card as a compass pointing you towards where more light can be found.

I pulled the Queen of Wands - Boom! This reminds me that my source of light this solstice is within and in connecting with my own inner Queen of Wands!

CARD TWO: Keys to abundance

Oh man, don't you hate it when you lose your keys to abundance? D'oh! This card will remind you where you put them.

I pulled the six of cups, naaaw. My keys to abundance can be found in reconnecting with who I really am, and the things I used to really love.

CARD THREE: Reward yourself for this

We just don't reward ourselves for pretty much anything these days. This card will let you know where you've been going well and deserve a cheers!

I pulled the Devil for this card. This feels like it's time to throw a party for overcoming some fear and chains to negativity. Hoorah! Pizza and beer on me! :D

CARD FOUR: The Divine Masculine

This card can be read in many different ways depending on what the Divine Masculine means to you. It can be a message from the Divine Masculine, a message about connecting to this energy, or a message about how to work with and connect to the masculine energy within yourself.

I pulled the Lovers! Ooooh! This feels a little like falling in love with both masculine and feminine parts of myself...

CARD FIVE: How to create future success

When the sun shines down on you you can't go wrong. So what do you need to do to harness the sun's power and create future success in your life?

I pulled the Ace of Pentacles, and this feels like a message about how important it is to acknowledge the small successes, and connect to the abundance already in my life, the pennies in my purse and the food in my fridge. :)

I hope this spread serves you! Please do tag me in your pics on Instagram and hashtag #newagehipster so I can find your readings! :D

I did a reading for y'all with the Starchild Akashic Tarot - check out the video below! x

I did a reading for y'all with the Starchild Akashic Tarot - check out the video below! x

Card one: Your light heart

This card will help you suss out what's most on your heart at this time. What is beneath all the layers of "outside" stuff? What is really going on in there?

Card two: what fears need to be released?

Ah yay, here you will find some fears that are ready to be released.

When you do lightwork light is gonna be shone on everything! But the good news is this is something you absolutely can release if you want to.

Card three: what is blocking your light?

What's getting in the way of you being super shiny and bright and doing the best lightwork you possibly can?

How to serve yourself

As "lightworkers" or spiritual peeps who resonate with other labels (or no labels! Rarrr!) we often find ourselves wanting to save everyone, save the world and we don't spend a lot of time focusing on how to serve ourselves. We know that's not sustainable, but we often feel guilty putting ourselves first, but it's soooo important!

This card will let you know how to best serve and look after yourself.

How to serve the world

OK, now you're looking after yourself better you can start to help the world. This card will give you some insight into how you can best do that.

Message from the light

Just a general message for you from the light, your guides, angels, ascended masters, cool ET guides, the light inside yourself, whoever/whatever you resonate with as "the light".

Rebuilding with the Tower card

Rebuilding with the Tower Card, Scary Tarot Cards. New Age Hipster x

We're doing a little expose on the "scary tarot cards" here at New Age Hipster HQ and this episode we're getting down and dirty in the rubble with The Tower card.

Some people find this card the scariest in the deck. When I first started reading Tarot I read this card as "an unexpected event that will change everything" or something along those lines. Not surprisingly most of my mates who got the Tower in their readings with me at that stage were pretty freaked out! Sorry about that guys! :O

I mean, how can you tell someone there's going to be an unexpected event that's going to change everything and then send them on their way? Yikes!

I know there have been times in my life I've pulled the Tower and totally flipped out. Convincing myself something tragic and terrible was going to happen, when actually the only terrible thing that did happen was that I lost a lot of sleep and energy over it all! Self fulfilling prophecy much?

The Tower appears all scary looking with it's lightning crashing, buildings catching fire and people falling to what's probably going to be their deaths, so how can we possibly look at this in a positive way? K, here's how.

Shoddy foundations

Ultimately, shoddy foundations are not ideal for building towers on. When your foundations are a bit rubbish you can keep building all you like, but sooner or later that Jenga tower is coming down

When you build your life on foundations that aren't in alignment with who you are or where you want to get to all the building upwards in the world won't make you happy. Sometimes we're building the wrong tower. Like, if you're an Eiffel Tower kind of gal don't try building a Telstra Tower, otherwise the universe might just come along and rip it down in front of you, not to be mean, but to give you the opportunity to build that Eiffel Tower after all.

Clearing

The Tower is a very clearing card. OK, stay with me.

If you wanna renovate, de-clutter, change your furniture around or even just sage yourself, the Tower can be your spirit guide

Clearing is not always cheerful and it's not always about donating bags of old clothes. Sometimes we need to clear stuff out from our lives that isn't working. Old relationships that no longer vibe, jobs that suck the life out of us, sometimes the clearing is mega.

But the Tower usually has your bestest interest at heart when it comes to clearing the crap. The stuff you're being called to clear needs to go for a reason, and that reason is to make way for better things right?

Renovating

It can feel pretty darn rough when the universe pops in and starts rearranging your furniture, throwing your couch on the sidewalk, knocking down some walls and whatever the heck else it's up to you down at your place when you've pulled the Tower. But it's really important with this card to remember that whatever is happening is the universe realigning stuff for you

When your guides show you this card they aren't trying to freak you out, they are letting you know the universe is popping over to renovate.

The Cosmic Tarot is my favourite version of the Tower! x

The Cosmic Tarot is my favourite version of the Tower! x

Rebuilding

When you get the Tower reversed you're standing in the rubble of the tower that's already come down.

Now it's your opportunity to rebuild, to fix up  your foundations and create the tower you really, really want. Sure, it sucks to be back at the ground floor again, but it's a hell of a lot better to be standing on a good solid ground floor than living in the penthouse of a tower that's about to topple down!

the Tower representing something negative

OK, let's be real here. While we can look for the positives in most situations there are times in life when you are dealt a shitty hand, and sometimes the Tower is in it.

The Tarot does represent all aspects of life. The good and the bad. There are plenty of times that the Tower represents something as simple as clearing clutter, but there are also times when it's letting you know you need to get out of your job, sort out your finances, or that you need to go home and look after your grandma, or something even harder.

Tower Tips

If you pull the Tower and can't work out whether it's a message for you to get rid of that old couch or that something bigger, all you need to do is pull a second card on it.

Ask for more information and grab yourself another card. Check out the video below to see that tip in action. It's a great way to get clear on what's really going on.

If you are freaking out or confused about the Tower or anything else that's coming up for you in the Tarot check out my other "scary tarot cards" posts or you can always book yourself a reading with me! x

Pumpkin Spice Latte Autumn Equinox Tarot or Oracle Spread

Pumpkin Spice Latte Autumn Equinox Spread.png

The Autumn (or Fall!) Equinox is upon us! We know this because we either follow the wheel of the year or we've noticed that Pumpkin Spice Latte is back! :D

I love Autumn. I love big chunky 80's jumpers, YA novels, chain drinking tea and of course, binge watching Netflix on the couch with the doona.

As we head into this beautiful season it's a great time to pull out your fave deck of Tarot, Oracle or whatever cards you have lying around and check in!

I also did this reading for us all which you can check out by scrolling down or popping over to the New Age Hipster YouTube channel.

If you need a personal reading head to my Readings page for info on how to hook that up!

PS - if you're in Aussie or other Southern Hemisphere places you might wanna check out the Spring Equinox Reading.

Gratitude

What do you need to be grateful for at this time? Where could you be more grateful? What are the wonderful things in your life you don't notice enough? Grounding yourself in gratitude now will get you through the colder months. It's great to make a note of this, put a picture or a phrase on your wall or somewhere you'll see it often to remind you.

Grounding

Where and  how should you ground your energy at this time? How are you going to stay grounded now that there are less opportunities to go rub your feet in the grass?

Harvest

This card can represent that which has grown beautifully in your life, the stuff you need to be really proud of. Notice what's grown! Or it can represent anything that needs to be cut away. Harvesting is about collecting pumpkins, but also getting rid of those veggies that didn't grow so well.

Stock up

It's a great time to stock up so you don't run out later. What do you need to stock up on now so you can get through the winter without running out?

Warmth

Where will you find warmth when it does start getting chilly? What is your energetic hot water bottle?

Work

It would be great if we could take time off and just sit with the Kindle until Christmas, but we still have to work. Here you'll find a message about how to get up and get going on your work, projects and dreams even when it's pitch black outside and you just wanna doona burrito yourself.

Joy

Where will you find joy at this time? How can you best connect to that delicious whipped cream feeling?

If you wanna chat about your own spread pop on over to Tarot Nerds or Spiritual Journey Pitstop the two groups I admin on Facebook!

May your Autumn be full of pumpkin spice lattes!

With so much love and light,

Vix
